You can call us home

by Wendy Lumanau

If you happen to be in Perth, Western Australia, considering yourself as a young Catholic and you are an Indonesian ( well, or you love Indonesia) , OR you have families, friends, neighbours who are young Indonesian Catholics who are in Perth, keep reading the rest of this entry because it might change your whole life.

Well, you may notice that Perth is not as bright, shiny and crowded as any other cities in Australia, but Perth has the greatest people in the whole world and that's including us, a bunch of young Indonesian Catholics who live in Perth, Western Australia.

You don't need to be a genius, to be a super religious person, to be as beautiful as miss universe contestants or to be those superpower people to be our friends; we only need your smile and your humble personality because having you as our friends is such a privilege, to be honest.

We have ranges of activities that you can choose and we don't mind if you like all of them. If you like sports, we provide you with our weekly sports activities from basketball games, tennis, and badminton (yes, we are Indonesians so we play badminton). If you like singing, why don't you join our lovely choir team but don't worry since we are not competing for the idol you don't need to have the fab voice to join us. We also have our religious activity since we are Catholics which is our lovely weekly fellowship, a gathering to cater our religious and spiritual needs.

Hmmffh, enough with our weekly dose, let's move to our monthly gathering where everyone will have a free dinner, a nice catch up with everyone on friday night and relaxing yourself with friends. Sounds nice, huh?

Hey, haven't I told you about who we are? ok, pardon me. You can call us the Indonesian Catholic Youth Organisation (yeah, our corporate name) but we prefer to be called as your friends actually.
Just click to our website www.icyo.org.au or find us on facebook ( type our corporate name), but don't be shy to meet us at our Indonesian Catholic Mass every Sunday 11.30 am at St. Benedict Church, Applecross, WA.

If you are new to Perth or to the Indonesian Catholic Community, don't hesitate to contact us and we will arrange your needs plus you will have more friends !
